At a distance from power — the ground and the like

In Iran, since 2022, women have been taking to the streets to remove their veil, some are arrested, some disappear, some are hanged, and the movement continues anyway because there is not much left to lose when the price is already known.

In Cuba, a family spends an average of four hours a day looking for food, power cuts last up to twenty hours, doctors are fleeing the country by the thousands, and nobody really talks about it because leaving, that too costs something.

This week, a message is circulating on Western social media explaining calmly that in Iran pedocriminals are executed, that in Cuba they are imprisoned for thirty years, and that in the United States they become presidents, and the message receives likes, it is shared, it keeps circulating, and between each like nobody risks anything, the hand presses, the number goes up.

Women in Iran keep taking to the streets.

Curiously, this message was not sent from Iran. Nor from Cuba.
